The Manas G4 prepayment module is approved for use with EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) international payment smart cards and is compatible with their “Payflex Smart-Card Token” prepayment solution. Manas has completed the first stage prepayment meter deployment of IGDAS (Gas Distribution Company of Istanbul), which is one of the largest gas distribution companies in Europe with 3.5 million existing customers. Teridian’s 73S1210F smart card reader IC is supplied with EMV 4.1 level 1 and ISO7816 compliant “Pseudo-CCID” software delivering system developers a turnkey smart card reader solution with advanced capabilities including accelerated system level EMV approval, lockable on-chip Flash memory, and “in the field” firmware upgrades under host processor supervision.“Teridian’s 73S1210F enabled us to save more than 3 months in development, and more importantly it allowed us to meet the demanding schedule and feature requirements for IGDAS without EMV type approval delays,” explained Mr. Huseyin Celik, Assistant General Manager of Manas Metering Systems.“We are pleased Manas selected our 73S1210F and has recognized the benefits of our turnkey EMV solution,” said Steve McClure, vice president and general manager at Teridian. “Utility meter prepayment is a focus area for our 73S1209F and 73S1210F circuits, complementing our 71M65XX electricity metering system on chip family.”Pricing and AvailabilityTeridian’s 73S12XX family of smart card reader ICs, including 73S1210F, are available in production volumes now and pricing is available upon request.
